Editor-in-chief Brandon Holly recruits celebrity panelists including Banks, Alba and Dianna Agron for the magazine’s Los Angeles fashion and beauty conference, to be held April 30.

The Lucky “Fabb West” conference to be held April 30th in L.A. was put together by Lucky magazine’s editor-in-chief Brandon Holly, after producing three conferences in New York. Covering beauty and fashion, it will feature panelists such as Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant, Project Runway producer Desiree Gruber, the founders of whowhatwear.com, Easy A director Will Gluck, and others.

The star panelists are also star bloggers: Jessica Alba (Honest.com, a site for moms), Elizabeth Banks (Elizabethbanks.com covers the stars’ own beauty and fashion choices), Dianna Agron (who blogs under the name But You Can Call Me Charlie), as well as keynote speaker Zac Posen. And if that wasn’t enough, Randi Zuckerberg, sister of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, will participate, as well as Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka, whose teen looks are making viral waves.

Panel topics and speaker sessions will include What Fashion Can Learn From Hollywood, Working with fashion and entertainment brands and talent in cyberspace, and Finding your voice and monetizing for the blogosphere.

This all happens next on April 30, and Fash Track will follow up on location and tickets. Interesting that stars and producers are now wanting to capitalize on the blogger crazy. Here’s one way a monthly print magazine can compete with the daily bloggers: give them a conference! If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

Now that director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Predators) and producer Alexander Rodnyansky are in full pre-production swing on Machete Kills a bit of significant casting news is beginning to trickle in. Word has it that Jessica Alba (Idle Hands, Fantastic Four; pictured inside), and Michelle Rodriguez (The Fast And The Furious, Resident Evil: Retribution; pictured inside) are in talks to appear in the sequel. One would presume this means they’re reprising their respective roles as Sartana and Luz, but you never know in the topsy turvy creative universe of Robert Rodriguez.

Machete Kills (as teased in the closing credits of the first Machete), the film is the second in a planned trilogy. Danny Trejo returns as the title character. The first film starred Trejo as Machete as a Mexican, an ex-Federale with a gift for wielding a blade, who hides out as a day laborer, and is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator. The sequel will be the first U.S. picture to be produced and financed by Alexander Rodnyansky, whose Hollywood expansion plans include a $120 million film fund with Media Talent Group’s Geyer Kosinski. AR Films U.S. is a new partnership between AR Films and Aldamisa Entertainment, whose Sergei Bespalov will manage worldwide sales of Machete Kills in Berlin.

Rodriguez has hinted that the third film in the trilogy will take place in space. We’ll see on that one. Machete Kills starts filming soon, with Rodriguez set to take the reigns on Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For immediately afterward.

The long-awaited follow-up to Frank Miller’s Sin City is finally gearing up to commence with co-directors Miller and Robert Rodriguez once again at the helm, and the new title will be Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.

Frank Miller’s Sin City thrilled audiences in 2005 with Clive Owen, Benicio Del Toro, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Elijah Wood, Brittany Murphy, Jessica Alba and Rosario Dawson portraying the gritty characters of the fictional title town, based on Miller’s stark graphic novel.

“The first Sin City knocked out audiences who had never seen anything like it before. Robert Rodriguez and I are going to shake things up and deliver a ferocious film experience that is going to go even further than the first,” says Miller, while Rodriguez adds that he and his co-conspirator “felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations. A Dame To Kill For will certainly be worth the wait.”

The script and details of A Dame to Kill For remain tightly under wraps, but many of the original cast are expected to return, and casting will begin next week. Rodriguez has said in the past that the follow-up may weave together storylines from before and after the original story.
